Lakhdar Brahimi (Algerian pronunciation: [læxdˤɑr bræhiːmi]; Arabic: الأخضر الإبراهيمى‎; born 1 January 1934) is an Algerian diplomat and politician.[1] He is the United Nations envoy and advisor. Since August 2012, he was the United Nations and Arab League Special Envoy to Syria.
